Safety and Compliance Advisor

This position will suit someone already qualified and experienced, or someone from transport operations who has experience with COR, BFM and MASS,

A privately owned Australian transport business they specialise in the retail logistics supply chain with a large fleet of freight and refrigerated trucks, they work with some of Australia’s largest companies.
  
This position is responsible for the safety and compliance across the company which includes both local and linehaul fleet.  Key responsibilities will include:

• Provide safety and compliance advice to management;
• Maintain, develop and implement OHS programs;
• Review and update policies and procedures;
• Advise on the Act and Regulations;
• Conduct driver assessments and inductions;
• Conduct Audits and Site Inspections;
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and standards including Fatigue, MASS Management and COR;
• Ensure that all relevant Licenses for staff are current and monitor demerit points;
• Conduct incident and accident investigations using technology such as dash cam footage, GPS and in cab cameras, identify key contributing factors and develop and implement control measures;
• Booking in trucks and equipment for service and maintenance when due;
• Liaise with external bodies and key industry stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have transport or related industry experience, be highly organised displaying high energy and a hands on approach to Safety. Key requirements include:

• A relevant safety or transport industry qualification;
• Experience either in the Transport Sector or similar regulated industry;
• Current drivers’ licence.

This position will suit someone already qualified and experienced, or someone from transport operations who has experience with COR, BFM and MASS who would like to move into OH&S and is willing to undertake further studies or a graduate.
