Fleet Controller - Night Shift

Night shift position, 9 pm to 6 am Monday to Friday, must have wharf transport experience, new depot, modern equipment, paperless operation.

Reporting to the Transport Operations Supervisor, the primary objective of this role is the allocation of jobs to both company and sub-contractor fleet daily. Core responsibilities include:

• Effective implementation of health and safety policies and procedures within their area of responsibility;
• Daily allocation of wharf bookings;
• Monitoring driver fatigue, ensuring achievable workloads for drivers;
• Weight management, ensuring vehicles are not overloaded;
• Central point for drivers, customers and company staff for enquiries;
• Assessing KPIs of fleet delivering productivity;
• Reviewing driver performance and developing training pathways to improve driver performance;
• Assist in conducting toolbox talks with drivers to ensure staff communication, OH&S practices and new company policies are delivered.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years’ experience in a similar position, have highly developed written and verbal communication skills.  This is a paperless operation, so a high level of computer literacy is expected. 
Experience with 1-Stop, solid time management skills, a commitment to safety and customer service are key for this role. Must be reliable, motivated and highly organised to fit the culture of this successful business.
