Operations Supervisor

We are seeking an up and coming operations Coordinator who wants to learn, develop and grow their logistics career.

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for bookings and scheduling of all jobs and the overall day to day supervision of field operations. Key accountabilities include:

• Confirming jobs with customers, schedule bookings and ensure scheduled bookings are completed;
• Act as the first point of contact for customers providing verbal quotes;
• Provide drivers with relevant information to complete jobs;
• Supervise drivers and ensure compliance with internal procedures and relevant legislation;
• Arrange and facilitate driver meetings;
• Schedule planned maintenance and book in any required servicing with appropriate repairer;
• Arrange emergency call outs rescheduling works as required whilst ensuring the most efficient run for the vehicle;
• Complete transport process including costing and invoicing;
• Ensure health and safety compliance including fatigue management;
• Induct new drivers and identify any training requirements;
• Check off weekly truck inspection sheets;
• Other ad hoc administration and operations duties as required.

The successful candidate will have at least two years experience in the transport and logistics sector in operations, customer service or administration. Ideally a relevant industry qualification such as a Certificate or Diploma in Logistics with a full driver’s licence and own vehicle. Must be adaptable and be willing to learn, excellent communication and customer service skills. A knowledge of Fatigue Management and COR is expected.
